2 Days in Akaroa: Alpaca Farm Tour & Sungazing Getaway

Looking for the best way to spend 2 days in Akaroa? NZ GO Tours & Travel has put together the Akaroa Gentle Escape trip package: a ready-made 2-day, 1-night Akaroa itinerary built around Alpaca Farm Tour and Solar Explorer: Sungazing Tour. It suits couples, small families and anyone who wants a relaxed New Zealand short break without a hectic schedule. It runs for 2 days and 1 night, and it is designed for both New Zealanders planning a break and international visitors who want a New Zealand getaway that is organised for them. NZ GO Tours & Travel is part of The Shaara Group, and we plan trips for national and international travellers every day.

Is 2 days in Akaroa enough?

Yes, if the days are planned well. A short break in Akaroa works best when you choose a small number of standout experiences instead of trying to do everything. This NZ GO Tours & Travel package does exactly that: two experiences across the trip and a night in Akaroa to rest. It answers a question travellers often ask when they search for things to do in Akaroa: "what is worth doing if I only have a couple of days?"

2 days in Akaroa at a glance

• Trip provider: NZ GO Tours & Travel
• Trip length: 2 days and 1 night
• Experiences: Alpaca Farm Tour and Solar Explorer: Sungazing Tour
• Accommodation: 1 night in Akaroa, confirmed after you enquire
• Who it's for: couples, small families and anyone who wants a relaxed New Zealand short break without a hectic schedule
• Flexibility: a starting point you can tailor, not a fixed tour

Day 1: Alpaca Farm Tour

You meet the alpacas on a farm tour. It is a gentle, easy-paced start to a trip and suits travellers who would rather feed their curiosity than chase adrenaline. Exact timings are confirmed when you book with NZ GO Tours & Travel, so you can plan your arrival in Akaroa around them.

Day 2: Solar Explorer: Sungazing Tour

The Solar Explorer is a sungazing tour in Akaroa. It is an unusual, quiet kind of sightseeing that looks up instead of out, which makes it a memorable addition to a slow-paced Akaroa stay. Timings are confirmed at booking, and NZ GO Tours & Travel will help you fit this day around the rest of your trip.

Where do you stay?

The package includes 1 night of accommodation in Akaroa. Accommodation depends on the season and availability, so NZ GO Tours & Travel confirms it once you send an enquiry. Keeping your stay and your experiences in the same place means less time spent organising transport between them.

When is the best time to book Akaroa?

Availability depends on the season and on the independent local operators who run each experience, so the best approach is to tell NZ GO Tours & Travel your preferred dates early. We will confirm what is available and match your stay to your dates.

Tips for planning your Akaroa trip

• Send your dates early. Stays and experiences depend on season and availability, so the sooner NZ GO Tours & Travel knows your dates, the easier it is to confirm everything.
• Do your own homework too. We recommend that you check the details of each experience yourself, including operator information, timings and any requirements, before you travel.
• Allow some flexibility. Weather can affect outdoor experiences, so avoid planning tight connections on the day you travel home.
• Tell us what matters most. Whether it is a special occasion, a budget, travelling with children or a particular interest, NZ GO Tours & Travel can tailor the Akaroa trip around it.

Travelling from another NZ city or from overseas?

This is where NZ GO Tours & Travel is different from a standard tour listing. We look after national and international customers. If you live in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch or anywhere else in New Zealand, or you are visiting from overseas, tell us where you are starting from. NZ GO Tours & Travel can add flights, shuttles and transfers, including arrival transfers for international travellers, so your whole trip to Akaroa and home again is planned in one place.
